Sparham Pools - look what you can with a few old quarries
Sparham Pools less that .5 of a mile from the Fox Lyng
Not quite in Lyng but close enough. Just over the bridge into Sparham ate the pools created by quarrying for gravel to build the roads demanded by the age of motoring - back in the 30s of course. The one nearest to the road is served by a small car park and provides about a mile of easy and delightful walking - best before the gorse becomes too aggressive. There are longer walks beyond and this is part of the Wensum Way, the county trail that follows the Wensum - but sadly not very closely.
